After reaching #1 on STEAM, action RPG Vampyr has a TV adaptation in the works. FOX21 will be working with Wonderland Sound & Vision and DJ2 Entertainment on this upcoming project. DONTNOD and DJ2 are also currently working on an adaptation for DONTNOD’s BAFTA winning game, Life is Strange.
Developers DONTNOD and Focus Home Interactive show great enthusiasm toward Vampyr’s television adaptation. DONTNOD’s CEO Oskar Guilbert believes “this is a new and exciting way for fans of the game, as well as the uninitiated, to enter and engage with Vampyr’s rich, deep story.”
“DONTNOD has created a uniquely dark, immersive world with deep narration,” Focus’ CEO Jurgen Goeldner states. “We cannot wait to see FOX21 bring all of their talent and expertise in launching a TV show that will allow an even wider audience to discover the fantastic universe of Vampyr.”
Vampyr players follow Jonathan Reid, a doctor and recently turned vampire trying to understand his new powers. Set in a dark, disease ridden London, Reid struggles to balance his undying thirst with what little remains of his humanity. Furthermore, players will shape a dynamic story based on their choices throughout the game.
Vampyr is available now on PS4, Xbox One and PC via Steam.
